AMS-USA MODIFIED SERIES
UNIFY RULES FOR '08

DeGraff OH:  (1/1/08) In a move to strengthen both sanctioning bodies the American Modified  and USA Modified Series officials have announced the group will run under the same rule book  (United Asphalt Modified Rules ) at all 2008 events. AMS president Charlie Stapleton stated “we are very happy to join forces with Steve Ellis and the USA Modified Series to bring the finest in open wheel pavement   modified  racing to America’s short tracks. We see this as a chance for both groups to increase car counts and provide drivers with a choice of where and when to race. In addition it will also save race teams money and time as they will not to have to switch over or buy equipment to race any given week end. Ellis has done a great job building the USA tour and we feel the AMS drivers will benefit most from the merger. We have patterned the AMS format after the USA group and feel that this is just the next natural step.” A 2008 schedule is pending.
